This blog is for frank discussion of minority health issues in the United States from a national perspective. All facts and no partiality… at least that’s the goal. All facts and stats are gathered from various government sources, credible organizations and heavily related to The Office of Minority Health and their Resource Center (OMHRC). The mission of OMH “is to improve and protect the health of racial and ethnic minority populations through the development of health policies and programs that will eliminate health disparities.”
And as the Web site states, ”OMH was established in 1986 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It advises the Secretary and the Office of Public Health and Science on public health program activities affecting American Indians and Alaska Natives, Asian Americans, Blacks/African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders.”
